North Seymour
North Seymour is a low, relatively flat island known for close wildlife encounters and a visitor trail that passes through an open, dry landscape.
Why visit?
The island is particularly associated with seabirds, including frigatebirds and blue-footed boobies, as well as land iguanas and sea lions. What is nesting or displaying changes through the year, so no single visit is identical.
What to consider
North Seymour is normally reached on a day cruise from Santa Cruz. The landing and trail are exposed, with uneven natural ground and little shade. It is a strong choice for visitors whose priority is wildlife behaviour rather than a dramatic volcanic viewpoint.
